If you really knew, you would not be a company driver anymore.

There are a lot of company drivers out there that are making more than some fleet owners. They aren't making a fortune off of you, driver pay is the single biggest expense a fleet owner has to pay.

At the end of the day, what the company makes off any given load doesn't matter to you and really none of your business. You are either happy with your pay or you aren't. If you aren't happy with what you get paid, maybe you should find another job.

Yeah,That was about right........Bought my first truck in Jan of 1992-
Fuel was 94 cents a gallon- New Goodyear or Firestone was $150- Mounted
Oil change $99 dollars and 99 cents.

Freight rates going outbound in my area hovered around $1.50-$1.70 a mile on long trips

We made money then, Plus we communicated with each other- Even on bad days!!

You're asking an ambiguous question with no good answer seeing as freight charges and overhead vary so much.
If I were in your shoes and your not happy with your pay, ask for more, if they give it to you great if not move on.
That's how I always operated when I was working for someone.
Just as an aside if your new to driving there is naturally a period of time you're going to make entry level wages. If that's the case work hard and prove yourself.
    Good luck.

well you add the dispatcher pay, the office workers pay, the mechanics pay, the accountant pay, pay for the custodian service, the building payments, and then all the operating costs to run the truck you should come up with your answer.

If it is a publicly traded company, look up their annual financial report. Divide the profit by the number of drivers and that will give you how much money they make off the average driver.

When I was at Heartland about 10 years ago, the average driver earned them about $25,000 a year in profits.
