How much do trucking companies charge for hauling freight?

    I learned to prefer salary. Pay me one number every week and I'll take whatever you put on that 5th wheel even to Hell if necessary. I can focus on actual doing trucking rather than worrying about the money.

    Yes and No........IMO it depends on who you are working for. My current employer I feel would do good by me if I were salary,but the fella that had this outfit before him(when I started) would beat a salary hand half to death with his constant last minute changes to the schedule just to be able to possibly gross another $2 that day. He also had us running right on the ragged edge of legal. I actually have a weekly guarantee in my contract,but have only had to use it once in the 2 years I have been here.
