I heard that new 2 drive axle truck in Europe is about 90k Euro ($108k USD). Can someone confirm this?

Also, Volvo has a factory in some of the Russian republics (Can remember which one), this factory produces trucks with Pre-emission D13 engine modified for the Russian market. This motor has no DPF, no DEF or EGR and the price for the local market is around $50k.

I am just curious, why we are paying $140-150k for a new truck here.

I wouldn't drive a Euro truck in this market unless I wanted to make a statement, I never seen one with a large sleeper and most of the drivers over there look like they were starving.

We pay more for a lot of reasons, one is safety and the other is that they don't make their trucks to last.

    Australia is an exception.

Our (new) trucks last? Humans are supposed to look like that! Not any other way!!

Do we pay a lot more for our new trucks because of unions? Or because our dollar is less valuable?

And the fact that we pay (PAY big time way beyond the simple sticker difference!) to test R&D for the rest of the planet!

I can never understand why every friggen European on this forum acts so high and mighty about their trucks being sooooo much more advanced. Just like those guys in the "Why do American's hate European trucks" thread. I can appreciate the trucks from over there for what they are but to say our trucks are 20 years behind is pure ignorance spewed by truck drivers that don't know #### as far as I'm concerned.

Are you saying the emission system cost $100k? This is not serious.
