Yep. Midwestern/Great Lakes regional carrier. 16th largest LTL with 48 terminals in 13 states. Not sure where you are, but we partner with A. Duie Pyle in the East and Southeastern Freight Lines down South and a few other regional carriers to the West.

Saia is bigger, but concentrated in the South and Midwest. They aren't in the Northeastern states either.

Over in Jersey, we got plenty of A Duie Pyle, but I never really seen them P&D in any of the area's I've been to. I do see them a lot at night though.

    Handhelds?

Not the clipboard with 3 inches of bills of lading on top of it with a pencil to manually check every little box?

No handheld here. It's my eyes, a pen and the invoice to make sure everything is there.

The hand helds are good, but there not a perfect system either. If you have a bar code that is dirty or is ripped and doesn't scan then the system falls apart. The hand held's cut down on errors and make stops very accurate, however it's not a perfect system there is no such thing human error can still override a scan system.

But "scanners" can have so many meanings! Are you talking about the scanners used at the checkout counters? The body scanners used at airport security? The medical scanners used in the hospital? The radio scanners that monitor public service bands? ;):D
