hello everybody. i just got my class B CDL in March. i'm planning on going for class A soon.

do people try to cut you guys off everyday? what can i do to try to prevent people from cutting me off? i would appreciate any advice so i can know what to do when i first start out.

if someone did cut you off and there was a crash involved, wouldn't it be 100% THEIR fault?

Because its pretty easy for the DOT to say you shouldn't have even been there to have that wreck (log book)...regardless of who was actually at fault for improper driving. Thats just the way it is...always has been, probably always will be.

Now...if your log book was perfect and you were in fact where you were supposed to be when the wreck happened...

Were you driving safely for road conditions? (speed limit is irrelevant...its up to the judge)

But the biggest problem with people cutting you off...is that you will hit them in the rear of their vehicle...its VERY easy to call that a rear end collision and even easier to say you were following too close.

You can still have a perfect logbook and not be at fault........
But you can still get sued......

4-wheelers even if they are at fault will call Larry H. Parker because your company name on your door looks like this $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to them.

You get cut off all the time, you learn to watch out for it. Don't tailgate and if someone is making a move, back off and let them. I wish the police could see half of what I have seen.

It happens more times than not. Youre driving down a 5 lane highway, 2nd right lane from the shoulder. Theres a car matching speeds with you in the 3rd lane, but he's one carlength ahead. A car comes up behind him in the 3rd lane travelling 20 mph faster than you. He has 2 open lanes to the left or he can go right and cut the bigtruck off.

Guess what he's going to do?

Isn't that the truth... I hate people who do that, it just makes no sense. Well, and the fact that they are traveling 20 mph faster to begin with.
