So Hi bros, I am a soon to be noob driver and don't know anything about how to hook up electronics in the truck. Would running all these things like TVs and gaming consoles do any harm? Edit: I don't want to start the truck on fire or anything. Is it normal to run/have all these gadgets in the truck?

    Just to your brain.

Small inverters can be purchased to run a tv and gaming console if the company does not provide one.

How much downtime do you think you will have?

Make sure you join a company that allows you to idle or have an apu, AND allows you to have an inverter that connects to the battery.

Otherwise your gaming sessions on your reset will be very short, if you're really working you won't have time to play much the rest of the time.

If you are going with a mega-carrier, it's doubtful you will have enough juice to run all of that. LED tv's use more electric vs. old tube tv's if you can believe it and PS4 uses a lot also. You will be lucky to have a microwave and fridge. It may be time to buy a Nintendo switch and just use a laptop, plus they make food coolers, heaters, and cooking appliances that plug into a cigarette lighter inverter.

Any easy question that will not raise red flags is if you will be provided outlets to run a microwave and fridge, if NO, you will not be able to run a PS4 and LED either. I'm planning on getting by with a laptop only, and some cheap DC appliances to heat and cool food without the need for a direct to battery inverter or APU. There are a ton of posts and threads about the subject, plus a forum for electronics in the truck if you scroll down a bit in the forums list.

PS4 is like 90-150 watts depending on what you're doing. I run the PS4, an LED TV, and a pretty decent sized fridge. If you only use it for an hour or two, you'll still have plenty of power to start the truck in the morning. However, over time your batteries will degrade. New batteries might drop to 12.2 volts overnight, while year old batteries might drop to 11.7 volts. You're not going to catch the truck on fire, though.

Steam is the way to go. More games, cheaper games, they have their own wireless controller now too on par with ps4/xbox1 for an extra fee.

Fully charge the laptop first and if you need a bigger screen go hdmi into a vizio 24". Also a nice setup for watching netflix and surfing at the same time. Working off the laptop battery vs. having a ps4 AND LED tv running at the same time will decrease the load maybe just enough where you can get by with an inverter via cig lighter vs. direct connect to battery. Many companies frown on APU and direct inverter, so I guess it depends on who you are going to drive for. If a microwave and fridge will work, the PS4 setup should too, if not, neither will the ps4/LED, IMO.
