Ok for you veteran tmc drivers, in your personal opinions how do you make the most money with tmc?

I have a few friends who have been driving for them for 6-8 months each and they average 800-1100 A week take home and are home every weekend (I've seen the pay stubs as proof and see them every weekend). Now my question is how do some of these guys bring in 1300+ every week and still make it home by Saturday morning? I'm looking to give tmc a shot and would like to know a few of the tricks and helpful tips on making the most from you veteran tmc drivers.

They don't go home. When you go home, you have to usually wait on a load to get you there. That could sometimes take a day or more, and that load may not be the 600+ miles you would normally run. On top of that, there is more than one way to be paid at TMC. Some people get a percentage of the line haul and others get paid cents per mile. Both rates can and do go up, but those getting a percentage also can lose points based on a variety of factors.

Don't have to see those stubs. That's what average drivers should make everywhere. LTL local drivers make that all the time and are home every day and off weekends.

He's probably not going to see a job like that where he lives. I've been there; it's a rural area. Nice place to live though, but local LTL or line haul trucking jobs are few and far between.

Are you driving already for someone else or are you looking to start with them? Is money your main motivation right now? TMC is a good company overall to start at flatbed if that's what you're looking for. Then later jump on to bigger hauls somewhere else that pays bigger.

Their program on how to run is the best way to make money there, however you'll also have to deal with the politics, the favoritism, and incompetent dispatchers/ load planners regardless if you run exactly how they want.

And don't forget being told exactly how to run with your hand held like a child.

I haul grain and heavy equipment for a farmer currently who leases his truck to other farmers so no cdl required because of it being a farm truck and take home 750ish a week. Getting ready to get my cdl and actually start driving for a company.

To Chinatown, not trying to be a dick here bud but there are plenty of jobs around here where people take home 800+ a week, ship yards, unions, construction, nurses, , chemical factories and materials plants, highway construction companies.

Just not any that I want to do, I like to drive and it's kind of a family gig to drive.
