How have people liked the Container Fleet?
    Where do you guys run?

11 years ago they would run from the West coast to the East .... now the website says California to the midwest.

We usually goto Dodge City/Liberal Kansas to the Port of Oakland. Our reloads from there head to Denver or sometimes out to Indiana. If the freight is slow we get a diversified load which requires we pull a 53' England trailer. Those loads are typical OTR loads and could go anywhere.

I am averaging about 4,500 miles a week as a phase 1 trainer which is fine with me since I don't have a lease or truck payment.

    thanks for the info
we are not to that point yet, but I am interested to see what the various fleets have going on in case we might want to join one.
My parents live near Liberal, so that might be interesting. :)
So how do you like hauling a short trailer full of meat?

My MPG are a lot better with the newer 53' England trailers but the 40' container chassis are easy to back up. Right now the miles in the container division are not all that great. This week at the port most team/training trucks are at 3K and with the short pay period they will be lucky to get in another 1,000.

Since my truck is paid off I don't need to stress about the miles so much. On a bad week like this I will still net about $1,600 but for a L/O they are looking at netting about $500-$600 as a phase 1 trainer.

Last pay period my miles were a little better, 4800, plus my mpg was pretty high for me. I used to be one of those guys that thought getting more miles and not focusing on my mpg was okay. I like doing 75 mph once I get out on the open highway but now I was thinking about governing myself at 67 mph. Since I am only looking at averaging 4,500 miles a week as a trainer I do not need to do 70-75 anymore. As long as I trip plan carefully I can get good miles plus good mpg.

    cool
my wife and I will not need tons of miles
and if possible I like to run slow and steady

In some ways it is tough miles doing almost all mountains from oakland to Denver ..... but I do like running out west

    thanks for the info
I figured real info like this would be helpful for outsiders to get a feel for what really happens inside England. :)

    Dewey120 Thanks this.
