Well I was started some maintenance items when I got home yesterday and 1 one them was to change an S-cam on my trailer. After I removed slack adjuster and everything I realized that the hub needs to come off.....Then my thought process changed to, well I can just put an s-cam repair kit on there but, I said no im gonna ask questions and follow through. If I run into something, I have a mechanic friend who can help but, he runs under his own authority and wont be home until tomorrow morning. I really prefer to do it myself.

From looking at YouTube videos...I do have a torque wrench to re-torque when im done.

Ill take pictures before removing the nuts so I know which order they go back in. I might as well learn now because Ive got 6 s cams to do on my trailer. I prefer to do it myself asking questions vs going to a mechanic.

    Any tips?

If you knock the bushing loose you can usually get the cams out without pulling the hub.

No got it loose but can’t remove without hub removed. I purchased 2 locknut removal tools. 1 3.5 and 1 4inch. The 1st nut is 3.5 on the hub and the 3.5 locknut is too big. The 3.5 locknut tool actually measures 4!!!

Is the bushing bolted on with 4 bolts? (Can't tell from the picture) If so take them out and beat on it, it will come out and then the cam will slide out.
    Do it all the time.

IMG_2349.jpeg On the red circle I’m assuming there’s a bushing in there. I have removed the seal but unable to get bushing/spacer removed. I have to go take locking nut removal wrench back. It says it’s 3.5 which is what I need for first nut on the hub but it’s measuring 4”
