I believe that the company's name says a lot about it. I've seen many a wild and hairy name on the sides of trucks running on the roads, names like "Thunder Express", "Lightning Transport", "Rumble Express", and now this "Hurricane."
With names like these, what do you expect those companies to be like? They're telling you up front what they are. It should be no surprise they screw drivers. They probably demand you drive 80 no matter where you are...be it Nevada or Ohio. -
Hmmm. I would expect an outfit called Hurricane express to be based in Florida.
Just kidding Florida residents. -
I think companies should be required to alter their names to fit their true attitudes toward drivers and public safety.
Can you imagine THESE names on the sides of certain company rigs?

I've seen their ads in the Truck Paper for a couple of years, and I don't think there is any small company ad I have ever seen that raises more warning signals in the back of my mind than theirs. It says nothing about their pay rates, running areas or anything else, but solely harps on how you can own a new pete 379 for free. And reading a bit further, it turns out that this entire offer consists of them making one payment in the life of the deal. All their trucks are supposed to be ultr specced out machines with aftermarket sleepers, and in general they look like one of the poorest deals you could ever get into.
On another trucking forum they have come up before, and the entire experiences reported were negative. I wouldn;t recommend that anyone even phone their number out of curiosity, much less consider working for them. My 02. -
Only 1 person in the company holds a CDL.
UPDATE: We received our final settlement sheet last week ( 3 months late. Owing them monies.) GO FIGUREMr. OBX and westcoasthauler Thank this.
