HWY 40 closed in eastern Utah

    If you're coming in through Vernal and Duchesne. You'll be routed in Duchesne to turn right to the landfill I think is on that road.

    SR 87 over to SR35 is the detour that will take you in to Kamas. From there you can head west back to Hwy40 or head north to I80.

    It's truck legal. But don't expect to make good time.

    41,000 acres are on fire with no containment in sight as of yet. Evacuations are ordered but nothing has been said about Duchesne as of yet. Hwy 40 is closed for 36 miles. Might be more now.

    I haven't been up there lately but I"m guessing there'll be signs of the warning.

    CHECK YOUR ROAD REPORT. Make sure you can even get to Duchesne at the time you'll be arriving.
