Friends, I have a pickup in Greenville nc, second stop after loading in Knoxville, class 3 flammable (gas/transmix) and the question has come up whether the tunnels on 40 are Hazmat restricted or not.
Anyone know definitively, or know who I can contact for that info?
Load goes Monday, trying to get things planned solid before rolling.

The NC I-40 tunnels in question are in Haywood County, NC:

There are no hazmat restrictions for such.....that I can find in my Rand McNally Road Atlas (Motor Carrier edition).
Also--there is no mention of a hazmat restriction for that here, either:

Once you get into The Gorge between TN and NC there are two tunnels, but they might be in NC. Whatever state they are in, there is NO HazMat restriction.
Here is the FMCSA National HazMat registry of restricted routes.
