i bought a CB today after 3 years of using hand signals

    Jerry Breedlove may have passed, but the Breedlove Machine Shop site for amateur radio mounts was still up a few days ago.

    Nice as those QDs appear, BMS has what anyone would want.

    Point is that quality pieces are available.

    Gonna hear a diff on the fg ant over the 10k..Love the 10k just not on a low mounting position of a plastic trk.

    Lol, yeah. But how effective is it when there are only two teeth making the connection. You know they will start to flatten out, especially in a mobile setup, and the next thing you know there is a loose connection. All your gear is on the line and for something that should be "high quality"? I could by the crap junk from the truck stop and still be sitting in the same place.

    I take a Dremel tool and grind the teeth off just so I get a better connection

    Those factory antennas on plastic/fiberglass trucks of today. The grounding has no metal to ground properly to. Though they are mounted higher than a metal mirror mount. The cheap antennas they put on the trucks are not very good.
