For the life of me, I can not figure the current market out. One week I don't have enough trucks and the next week I couldn't buy a load and I have to sit a guy home for a day. I can't be the only one am I?

I don't think it's only the bulk market either. I run dry van and for instance, coming out of home time sometimes my company is begging me to come out early to get a load delivered and other times they send me a message saying they have no load to get me out of the house and I sit there. It used to be very consistent. Just give me a load the day before I would leave the house and I leave first thing in the morning.

Well the week before last was “road check” less capacity due to owner operators with raggedy equipment staying home. Last week Memorial Day weekend, again less available capacity, so therefore higher rates.

I agree, I've seen some of my company's insanely high rates drop off by a 1000.00 on one account and a another drop off by 109.00 on another but beyond that not much has changed.
I hear horror stories out of my spot market friends that make me worried but I'm still booked 1 to 3 loads out on the contract reefer side .
