It does come in higher strengths. But it is ill-advised to take more than 20mg, your average dose is 3mg. It works best when you take it consistently versus as needed. You can easily get the measurements wrong if you're not careful as its sometimes measured in mcg (micrograms) versus mg (milligrams.).

There *are* a few side effects, but it is far less than something like Ambien or Lunesta and mostly happens when you hit the higher doses for too long.

As a side note.. For some, the synthetic melatonin doesn't work too well as the body processes it differently. Check a grocery store or health food store for 100% TART cherry juice and drink about a cup of it before you lay down to sleep.

Fun fact: if you've got gout, drinking a cup of tart cherry juice can often help alleviate symptoms of Gout. Some claim it does a better job than medicine!

It's going to be a long week. Catch you all later and I'll tell you all come Saturday. Until then, you all be safe!

Hey... didn't know you were a pharmacist too... or did you use to be one...? And that reminds me of a very appropriate clip Mr. Cranky posted here many many moons ago... and I will never forget... Actually, would like to see it again...

I'll try that and let you know how true that is. Too much processed sugary stuff or stress sets it off and I've had plenty of both lately. Minor flare up this morning. Surprised it took this long.
