Save yourself some money. Take two Benadryl generic tablets and wash it down with a beer. That's about all that z-quil is anyways. Alcohol and diphenhydramine.

Also, you may not respond to the synthetic version. Some folks don't, I'm one of them. It's why I mentioned the tart cherry juice.

 

Decided to take my 10 after fueling at the Sapp Bros in Commerce City (Denver). Interesting parking lot for sure... should be fun once the sun goes down

Speaking of brokers, I told my dispatch I couldnt make the 0630 appointment in Avon, NY seeing as how I went on duty at 0430, spent an hour and a half getting unloaded, lost over two hours waiting for this dispatch then lost 3 1/2 hours getting loaded, didn't start rolling until 1330, my hour clock was going to expire at 1830 and i would have to shut down until 0430 which would be 0630 local time and I'd be a considerable distance from Avon when that happened because there's no ####ing way I'm going 347 miles in 5 hours grossing 76k between Dayton, NJ and Avon, NY at the start of the afternoon rush hour. Dispatch called CH Robinson who of course tried to pin it on me why I was delayed at the shipper, asking if i was late. I arrived at 1145 for a 1230 appointment. Then asked why I needed to shut down at 1830. I realize hours of service compliance is an alien concept with them.

They told us the appointment couldn't be rescheduled and I'd be a work in. My reload back to El Paso stops loading at 2pm. So we shall see how it goes.

I flat out told Miguel, my dispatcher, that I don't cook my books for these Mickey Mouse ######## short hauls they get to cover the fuel going up to the main haul that are more trouble than they are worth 90% of the time.

 

Anyways, stopped at the Owego, NY rest area on NY17. Had 45 minutes left on my 14. Decided not to push it.

 

Oh that's right! Been a while since I've looked at OTC medicine labels.....

Still, two tablets of Benadryl is enough to knock me out cold. One isn't enough.
