It was going to be a 3 hour wait to get one fixed at the TA in Mt.Vernon, MO a few years back. Then I had a light go off in my head and pulled into the truck wash and used the scaffolding there to reach the light.

I've changed rear clearance lights using a scrap pallet as a ladder inside the trailer. You can get creative with a combination of closing one door, or adding load locks for "safety." Front corners can be done sort of the same way using your catwalk and back of the cab to brace your ladder. That is, if you're somewhere you can jack-knife enough to get the right angle. Also not so good if the job is more than a quick replacement (broken screws, wiring, etc).

Edit to add: Sometimes you can find a flatbedder that might be willing to let you park next to them and use their deck and maybe even the load as a ladder.

Yeah. It ended up not being a bad bulb but the wiring.

Anyway rolled the dice and came up craps. 90 min to get over the GWB due to down to 1 lane on the lower lever which caused a domino effect.

Now at the shipper in Edison, waiting for a door and then taking this to Manassas Va for 0930. Gonna run through mom and pop's house for the night first.

Did just receive a bit of good news. One of the drawbacks here is the embarrassingly low detention pay.....4 hours you receive $20 and maxes out at $45 after 6 hours. It's not even worth it. It really is hardly an issue but it is frustrating on the rare instances I sit for 3 1/2 hours or even 4 hours cause $20 is pretty insulting if you ask me.

Well as of next month they are changing detention to 2 hours paid at a rate of $15/hr up to 10 hours. Much better.

Sometimes, you might even talk a tanker into using the ladder on his trailer

Well it was bound to happen. Guy decided to drive next to me on the NJTPK and when I looked over he was having a very intimate moment with himself. :puke:
