I will admit not the first OR second truck on my list, but new truck order banks are so backed up that I cant wait till next year, so give me the good the bad and the ugly, they are 445/1700 with a 3.21 ratio, the specs, wb, gearing etc are all spot on for my operation, which is around 50,000 gross, these trucks are all brand new 2016's let me have it! Thx

The 2019s have been out for a while, so how come these 2016s are still new?

could be they were ordered for a customer, and that customer either canceled the order, or went out of business.

one company i had worked for, had new tractors sitting in the yard for over a year, untouched. i was told it was for tax reasons, and they would depreciate and THEN pay taxes on that amount. i dunno if that is true.

but it is not uncommon to see any new vehicle sit on a dealer's lot, i have seen a NEW 2015 Buick Regal at my local Buick dealership, last summer in fact.

so @KANSAS TRANSIT regarding these new Macks, go for it...they will still have a full factory warranty.

So what are you going to do with your custom stinger build?
And why are you buying several? For your drivers?

Custom built stinger may not happen, several issues have happened in the last month since it's been down at SC, first, with the tariffs and the overheated economy steel has gone thru the roof, second I was trying to do that truck on the cheap just to see if it would work, and lastly, I just lost a motor in one of my other trucks yesterday, and that shortened cab truck is my only extra piece of equipment, so right now I have a driver flying out of Iowa at 6am tom. to Phoenix to pick it up so that I can keep all of my accounts up to date.

I just simply can't afford to be down a truck right now, so he will DH it back here on Monday and we will stick the 5th wheel back on it so that I still have the full fleet running, sucks but that is what it is, I have tried in vein for the last 3 months to order new trucks.

Everybody's order banks are full, I thought I had 6 new trucks ordered from a dealer that was going to use the last of his stock orders, but another customer that had a larger order and decided he need to add to his order so those 6 slots has vanished, best KW can do right now is APRIL of 2019!!!, Freightliner is worse!

Really not sure what I am going to do if I have another catastrophic failure. I REALLY dont want to buy used, not even as a stop gap measure, and I REALLY dont want to stick a ton of money into my trucks at this point in their life cycle, so at this point,,,,,,,,,I am just paddlin as fast as I can with the equipment I have, that is why I was looking at those Mack's.

those macks must have depreciated a bit don't you think?

you can save "some money" on sales taxes? registrations? insurance?

i am NOT an o/o, i am just wondering.

KANSAS TRANSIT and Oldironfan Thank this.

I thought your custom green truck is the one in your avatar? I thought it was finished?

Try to find Owner op truck that they are retiring. No company spec junk, and usually just as nice as new. Meticulously maintained comes to mind. Almost better than new in my worthless opinion.
And if it's a pre 2000 379 that's even better. And depreciation is retarted.

Problem is with O/O trucks they are usually big sleeper long nosed, I need short nose small sleeper lite weight? The cab/body work was done but it had yet to be stretched and have a bed mounted.

They just called me back he has them at 90g's PLUS FET so not as good of a deal as I thought since KW quoted me around 115 for brand new 2019 and exactly what I wanted, of course I may have to wait a year, IF my trucks hold out that long???

Look for some FLD trucks, or FLC, or FLA, or an Argosy. All tough trucks.
