lol - I think I like your boss!
He and I seem to be on the same wavelength on this one.
If you like, though, I'll write to DOT (save you the potential embarrassment of having to correct your boss - and I'm *used* to being embarrassed)
Actually, I'll be out and about tomorrow (DMV, potential jobs, etc) so I might be able to stop into the Western Division office and ask them directly...

Your answer is why I would not say what I would do.
Actually it would be the same. -

I stopped by the regional office today and asked the question. Guess what?
They don't know, either.
They directed me to the D.C. office. I called and left voice mail at about 16:30 Eastern time. We'll see if I get a call back. -

Well, I will be dipped in dark brown paint.
They called me back this afternoon.
I'll be dipped in something other than brown paint, too.
They said "Off Duty"

Just log it as driving to get your average speed for the day back to legal.
But really, that's quite interesting. -
I was called to serve twice. I get my wages paid as if I were at work, plus mileage. First time DUI case - NOT GUILTY vote. If they don't have the five pieces of evidence then there's reasonable doubt. The second time was last Monday. We had over 40 show up and I was part of the back 40 and they didn't get around to us much for questioning and chose from the first 25. Even if you answer questions stating you have had something similiar happen to you or someone close, they always end the question with "Would that make you presume innocense or quilt?" I feel 90% positive I could not answer yes to that question. Everyone deserves a fair trial.
I think it takes all of us as participating members in each of our communities to make things work. If it doesn't work, we try to make changes in how things are done, for the better. I can't say it's flawless (court system, laws, officers of law & court) but am glad we don't have the right to run amuck like those virus infected mutated characters (which remind me of overamped crack addicts)on that movie with Will Smith I Am Legend. I still get the heebie geebies thinking bout those creatures!
Oh yeah, getting back on topic. Glad Lurchgs & Logs found out the answer for you. -
Thanks for all the responses. Although my conscious was going to take a beating I was prepared to log my jury time on the top line, and, hope nothing happened during the next six months that would put my funny-book under the microscope. Now, there is no reason to sweat it.
Good information, and, some of the deviations made for an interesting read. Thanks, again.
