    Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd share in case anyone has been considering buying it. It's usually $150, I paid $99 for it...sweet deal if you ask me!
It says the sale is on through October 21st. I bought the IOS version but it looks like the Android version is on sale too.

    cowboy_tech Thanks this.

How well is it working for you compared to a stand alone unit?

I'm not gonna be much help on that one. I've never used a truck specific stand alone unit and I haven't used the app yet.
    Sorry :-/

I believe so. I think I saw the option to download Canadian maps.

FYI...Not sure if you guys are aware of this but your device should have a GPS chip in it for the app to work. The Wifi only iPad does NOT have a GPS chip in it. In that case you would have to purchase a little plug made by Bad Elf in order to recieve the GPS signal. I'm not sure which Android tablets come with the GPS chip.

Any idea how much data it will consume on your data plan? When I go to Canada I will only have 1 GB of data. I'm with Verizon.

It's my understanding that the GPS chip does not consume any data. The GPS chip communicates directly with the GPS satellites.
The only time you will consume data is when you download your maps as part of the initial set-up. I would do it on a wifi network because the maps can be pretty big. The US map is roughly 1.5 GB.

Dang, Ive been wanting to get this app just for the customizable, drag and pull routing. Just got 600 in bonuses too. But I have a stand alone already, and really need an inverter in the truck for a microwave. saves money, priorities i guess.

copilot is a full fledged map. it does NOT use data. it's all downloaded onto your device. it's the same software as the pcmiler hand unit.

i bought the active traffic license also. $10 for 12 months. but that DOES require internet. i only use it when i'm in traffic. hit the hotspot on my phone. turn off when i'm done with traffic.

make sure you set your truck parameters and you won't go wrong. people think your stupid for soley relying on your gps. but i have yet to be steered wrong. and i've been using it 2 1/2 years.

only time i get into trouble. is when i make my own decisions. so i've learned to not argue with it. cuz it knows the streets better then me. i always end up on weight restricted bridges when i do my own decision.

    DsquareD and betochas Thank this.
