Man, was I sleepy last night. Ran the Norcross to Memphis LTL and had to stop a few times to get out of the truck, walk around and get the blood flowing. The coffee bean was my friend as well. Ended up getting a load that will arrive here at Memphis around 3 am. I will have one stop near Huntsville, AL before heading home for the weekend tomorrow. Then out again on Sunday for the last two stops in Virginia. A 500 mile start to the week sounds good to me.
Here is hoping you have a great weekend and be safe.

I am so glad everything is going well, JSBTrucker! I have a friend who is out of FUL and he averages 2200-2400 miles a week. It think you should do just fine when you get your own truck.
The last 3 weeks I have been at 1800 to 1900 miles a week but the one thing I am seeing is the time between pick up and delivery seems to be much longer. It's slowing me down a bit. Pick up and it's a 350 mile run and it doesn't deliver for 24 hours. That will kill you, but it's also part of regional trucking.
I left out this afternoon after a really awesome weekend with my family. I am at our Roanoke yard. I have two stops tomorrow near Roanoke and Richmond. I am going to ask my FM to keep me out over the weekend and just let me run until they get us home for Thanksgiving. 11 or so days out. That is IF they plan to get me home for Thanksgiving. LOL I am being a bit presumptuous but most all drivers told me they usually get you home for that holiday since so many places close for the long weekend. We shall see.
I ran into my trainer at the CHA yard as I was hooking up to my trailer this afternoon. He was headed out today also. He said he plans to run until Thanksgiving as well. I am pretty sure a few Averitt drivers have had that idea.
Happy Veterans Day. Thanks for your service if you spent any time at all in the armed forces. I was an Army Guard weekend warrior myself back in the day. -
Delivered at both of my stops today near Roanoke and Richmond, then got a load from Lawrenceville, VA to Knoxville. Made it as far as our Ashville yard and will finish up in the morning. Right at 1,000 miles by Tuesday morning is okay with me.
Talked to Fewe today. He is keeping busy on the Dollar General account and still liking Averitt. I told him to visit the forum and give us an update. -
Hey Bigmike,
Been following your posts and just wanted to say Hello, and let you know that I appreciate your positivity! You inspired me to check out Averitt out of Austin, Tx. The recruiter(Nelson) said he would have the "people that have the power" to approve a school, check out the program at Austin Community College to see if it meets their requirements. I will be attending the 4 wk. course running until Dec. 14. and see what happens then. Thanks again my friend, and happy trucking! : )bigmikectn Thanks this. -
Hey Smoothgrind, that is good news man. I hope it works out for you and they approve your school. Keep us in the loop.
I ended up picking up a load at Lawrenceville, VA and running it to Knoxville for a delivery this morning. Then picked up a load of tile in Crossville, TN and will delver that in the morning in Columbia SC. I am for sure keeping moving this week. We'll see what they find me for tomorrow after I deliver.
Had to shut down at a rest area about 50 miles from my customer because my chin started hitting my chest. Got really tired quick for some reason and I don't play around with that. Plenty of room here at this rest area but the last two truck stops I checked out were full up.smoothgrind Thanks this.
