Hi guys please I need advice, I have been owner operator OTR for with 19 years experience. Now I want to enter oilfield frac sand hauling. Can anyone tell me more about it? Is it better to stay OTR or Enter the frac sand hauling and where's the best location to go? Thank you.

And pre-wraps for your engine air filter, and Cab Fresh panels for the HVAC's intake.

@Arkadelphia why are you thinking about switching from OTR freight to frac sand, and where are you based?

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

If you have a ‘pavement queen’ of a truck, sell it and get a ‘work truck’ something that can tolerate gravel(if you’re lucky) lease roads(cow paths). If you are a ‘Felix Unger’ type of guy the oilfield is no place for you. Prepared to sweat your ### off, with dust flying all around you. Prepared to wait in line to unload, and wait, wait, wait, and wait some more. More than likely you will paid by the load, so waiting is the name of the game.

    Zonno and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Don't expect a routine sleep schedule if you do frac sand.

    Zonno Thanks this.

Oh he'll have plenty of time to sleep while he's waiting on the staging pad.
