1 dead in fiery semi crash on West I 40 at Bushland Road
The driver of semi tractor-trailer truck that was traveling eastbound on Interstate-40 has died after the vehicle left the highway, crashed through a guard rail and plummeted to the ground between the eastbound and westbound lanes, Sgt. Cindy Barkley of the Texas Department of Safety has confirmed.
Sad to hear about the driver. Wonder how this is going to pan out for all the traffic through here.
I40 in Amarillo expected to be closed for months after fiery rig crash.

Footage from security camera.
Luckily nobody else was injured or killed. Hopefully he had already expired before impact. Not a good way to go.Last edited: Feb 28, 2017

Exit 57. Tuesday morning, traffic seems to be flowing normal through there.

Looks like Swift is the one that went off that overpass in AmarilloDave_in_AZ, misterG, 7-UP and 2 others Thank this. -
Yes it was Swift, you can pause that video above and see that it was an OO hauling tires. His load went every which way upon impact.

longbedGTs, Dave_in_AZ, Big Don and 8 others Thank this. -
Yes it was a swift but it's not a company swift.
That's a pretty bad drop and impact. It goes without saying there is not enough of the video to see why that rig went off the way it did. -
This is sad! And I hope that he had passed away before he impacted, may god be with him and his family .
Smut, 4mer trucker, misterG and 5 others Thank this. -
I will say that one Im happy the security camera was too far away to show him burning. No one needs to burn. Im hoping the impact took him out. That would be a mercy. If it's his time. But then again... I don't want anyone to have to pass away, they have value in this world with family etc.
Someone is not going to get those tires, I hope that they order up a replacement load rather fast because they are probably waiting on it. -
Retired and safe at home with my family. You guys be safe out there, your family needs you.
Smut, Dave_in_AZ, Big Don and 7 others Thank this.
