I'm going through NYC for the first time on 95 from Boston any tips on going through there. I also know the height signs are wrong as far as it may say 12'6 but it's really higher. How do you know if your safe getting through there without hitting anything.

If you're staying on 95, you got nothing to worry about. Just make sure you take the Upper deck on the George Washington bridge. Or take 287.

Yes you can, if you run 287 from end to end I think it's something around 30-40 miles. The only time I'd take 287 was if there was a major backup on 95, which is common, but not definite. Most times even during rush hour I'd take 95. I never liked crossing the Tapan Zee bridge. But I hear it's new now.

Take 95, it gives you bragging rights!

You can go down and grab 280 or 78to get back to 95, but it really don't make too much sense. If you're taking 287, you might as well stay on it all the way down. I really don't know of any other way.

    Upper DECK of the GWB.

You will have plenty of signage telling you which lane to be in for that UPPER DECK on the GWB.

9-11 scotched the trucks being able to use lower deck. Those days are over. Not that it really matters if they put a truck bomb onto the lower deck..

TAKE IT EASY coming through CONN. You will find that you need to be able to stop at any time through there.

When you breach the NY State Line and move towards the GWB, make #### sure you pay attention to the traffic around you. They can and will stop across the board like instantly. If you cannot, well I guess we all will be reading about that tomorrow.

Have a out always for that truck. You might need it. It's not a BAD road, but you will be in battle.

When you come out of that GWB, set up for the downgrade leaving that area. If it's icy....

    One more thing.

You do not stop for anyone on foot. PARTICULARLY in the walled section (You will know it when you see it...) I don't care if they are prostrate across your lane, you will go around them and keep going. You are prey.
