Yeh maybe, humans have always wanted more otherwise we'd still all be on horses, or walking with a wheel barrow, or perhaps just a sack. Think there might be growing pushback on autonomous you name it, AI, and ones life being shared or sold on the net for big Teck profits. Up to now we have largely been happy to let Teck companies tell us its all great, but think many are seeing it not. Not by a long way. Especially if all big AI Teck companies have had AI go rogue on them, escaping from what they thought were secure off line test conditions. Seems AI worked out how to escape and get itself on line and hack (rob) the competitor for answers. Now think about your bank balance, or a nuclear weapon, or a dams flood gates, or the cities traffic light network, or coordination of essential services. It may be a small amount of very rich humans, but if the computes are looser than them I can't see ALL trucking being replaced by autonomous vehicles. Who holds the bag when the truck runs down a heap of school kids. Teck companies? business owner? School?

Truck stops are not necessarily dangerous for women drivers. Women are more sensitive to possibility to danger and men like to 'remember that one time 8 years ago when...' and sometimes stories get better with age.
If you are inside the truck, lock the doors, no exception. Some places I even locked the truck doors while I fueled the truck. It's better to have the habit of truck door is locked at all times, except when you are opening/closing it.

A safe habit is to not walk between parked trucks. Walk in the paths trucks drive instead. Most crime happenscwhen buying/selling items, buying/selling drugs, or hanging around people that do these activities. If you don't do that you have less chance for crime. Yes, one time someone have a bad thing happen not messing with the people above. Don't hang out with strangers, don't ignore crazy people.
