You work whatever it takes to get the job done. Most companies you will drive 10 hours a day since you can work up to 14 hours.

When truck is in shop for repairs. You usually have to wait in drivers lounge. The shop doesn’t work around your sleep schedule. They work on your truck when they finish the previous truck. They work on your truck till they close. So if your getting lots of repairs you probably have to go to hotel. If it just oil change you wait in your truck till they come get your truck.

If they are 24/7 that’s what they work. What the problem? Many Freightliners are 24/7. If you want to sleep in truck when they are working on your truck a regular shop won’t let you do that. A road service call they could care less since no drivers lounge on side of the road.

If it getting to close to end of your driving time for the day. You can legally drive to first safe place to park after they repair your truck. Their is also a rule to give drivers 2 extra hour of driving time for accident and unforeseen circumstances if you got stuck in traffic. You could also go into sleeper when they are working and that will extend your driving time for the day.

you can’t take 10 hour break on side of road.
