Company’s are paying from .35 to .45 cpm. For new drivers like me. I been looking dedicated route because it’s gives more home time, but only around 1500 miles per week. OTR is not for me, In this industry is the only way to make money leaving in the truck for 3 weeks and one week at your house or own your own truck. I canceled my training with Schneider next week .35 cpm not enough.

Go local, I make $1800ish a week and I'm only out two nights week and spend those in a nice hotel. You could also probably find a better paying otr job, I know there are guys that do quite well for themselves otr.

I started in February (after 20 years driving buses) at .36/mile, up a cent at 3 months and another at 6 months. I’m starting a dedicated position tomorrow, no more mileage, straight salary $1200/week for 5 1/2 days.

So why should a company pay you (a rookie, an inexperienced driver, a high insurance risk and probably cost) big money? You must be one of those drivers who think you'll get rich driving

I net between 1k and 1700 local a week depending on how hard I want to work.

33 an hour ot after 40, after 10 and automatic on Saturday. Double time Sunday.

I don’t like working too much so usually like 45-50 hours a week I’m good.

Im one to load a box in Yakima, run reefer to Boston in 6 days. Awesome.

Money takes care of itself. I need a day to bounce back to Washington state or Arizona etc.

I prefer some order each week. Once in a while dispatch throws a HUGE wrench into my orderly plans. But that's ok, it's trucking. Cannot take it? Go home. =)

    Iowa80 Thanks this.

28.50 per hour, work on the average of 65 to 68 hours per week, home every night as a general rule. Going up to 29.75 in 90 days.
