What would happen if a driver who just got done with their company paid CDL school and training, and just went solo, moves to a state away from where the company typically runs? I have read and heard that this particular company will not let you run West Coast until you've been solo for 6 months. The company does have runs on the West Coast is just not their normal thing. But I'm wondering how the contract is affected if you move? Is there anything in the contracts that say you can't move if you so choose? Are they then obligated to let you run West Coast?
If you move out of state does it affect your contract?

If you stay in their operating area I don’t see why it would matter. I guess read the contract and/or call them and ask?

If you move out of their operating area, expect to complete your contract with less home time. Maybe no home time.

Depends on what tihe contract states and which company.
If they hire in the new area you will likely be fine. If not, you may not get home time up to being let go and having to pay back the contract.
Remember the contract is simply a loan and is basically the same as a car loan. It simply has a second way of paying off the loan. That being working for the company.born&raisedintheusa, roshea and GoneButNotForgotten Thank this. -
Home time may become park at a terminal and supply your own means of transportation home. Which means buying your own plane tickets

Move, then when ready for home time, request home time at new address.
born&raisedintheusa and Kyle G. Thank this.
