Now honestly wouldn't you rather drive logan canyon or other drives like it when you have time than a boring interstate??

I just ran from Eugene to Reno on OR58 to US 97 to OR 39 / CA 139 to CA 299 to US 395. Really beautiful run. I've been on parts of it before (97 and 395) but a lot of it was new to me. Had a great time.

I wouldn't want to do it in the winter though. I know what those 6-foot high sticks with reflectors on the sides of the road are for.

I woulsn't worry too much about them short sticks, hell we have some as tall as the truck andd has a 6 foot one coming off the top so the plow blade can get under it.
Somewhere on another computer I have pictures of two of my trucks on the cassier with the snow higher than the stacks. It was like driving through a tunnel.

7 of us and some state dot highway hands were snowed in up at central one winter, they told us they would try to bust through with their big snow blower, but if they weren't there by 3 pm the next day, plan on monday. We went to the gate and waited in a pullout, where wind was rocking the trucks you thought the wheels were getting off the ground and waited. the plow didn't come by three, but did 30 minutes later and turned around, He told us to stay close as it was blowing closed as fast as he was clearing it. lol You could not see out that time either. lol

I've said a few times how hairy that part of us89 is. Especially going west up the grade after a fresh bit of snow, no chain up lights were on and I could not get my chains unlocked. That was a few hours of spinning the tires. That grade is steep, and like right now.
