No one should worry about that type of thing.
The trick is to not speed through work zones.

Just go the speed limit and you will be fine.

Bottom line! Slow down when the sign says so! What's so funny is lots of times the vehicle is just parked! Way back years ago for close to 4 or 5 months, I laughed leaving Charlotte NB on I-77. The DOT had a State Police Vehicle parked near the breakdown lane! I never once seen a trooper in that car!

MD had a habit of doing that as well, along I-95

thing is however, there was many times a mannequin in the drivers seat, decked out with at least a cop hat, and fake radar sticking out the window.

that made people slow down real quick...lol

Years ago the Illinois Staties would park trooper cars in different places on I 294. Some even had a mannequin in cop dress in the drivers seat. Got a lot of people to slow down, for a little bit anyway.

Being hourly, I love a good excuse to go 45 mph. FedEx Ground flips me off as he passes me at 65 mph, and that's fine. I value my license. I just smile pleasantly and wave back. I have a career, not a gig.

I rarely see truck drivers going the posted speed limit in construction zones.

There’s an insane amount of trucks that just don’t care. All these trucks doing 65-70 in the 55(45 mph work zone) on 294 will only hit their brakes when they realize that curve/traffic pattern ahead of them is a little bit too tight..

Also there is I-70 in Indiana. I’m pretty sure both sides are posted straight 55 mph to at least Indianapolis... it really sucks because it seems that they only work on one side at a time.

I seem to remember years ago a police agency somewhere that had a plastic cutout of a police car that they would stick in the grass next to the highway, angled just right so it looked real.

Yes I’ve seen it on I-55 and I-70... at first I thought it’s some kind of warning device until I notice the camera inside and flash. Seen it flash couple times too

    I remember that, too.....

I think it was MD and PA. I forget who did it first, but it worked well enough for the other to get one, too, IIRC.
