You’re not getting a ticket. That vehicle is parked there as a scare tactic.

Exactly Maryland pulls the same scare tactics.

OP, Come back in a month or 2, you'll see this worrying was all for nothing.

That might be true but Illinois does have videos of the State Police in the back of the van on YouTube etc

633D7E24-6285-4890-BFBE-BAE77523E9E5.jpeg NW Ontario traffic tactic. Cheap, environmentally friendly.
Pays Plat had a old black dodge 50’ off the highway with a red bucket on the roof to slow down traffic

They have a van set up on I-70 eastbound between Effingham and Indiana state line as well... You really think its just put in place to scare people?

I'd imagine they'd be handing out thousands of tickets per day if there was someone in that van. It's hardly "safe" slowing to 45 when traffic is up your ### and doing 90 next to you

    Bull!

You are just trying to come up with an excuse for your poor driving by blaming everyone but yourself. Learn to drive your own truck instead of letting everyone around you drive it.

    drvrtech77 and AModelCat Thank this.

I merged on to 290, joining the traffic and the van was up about a mile ahead. I'm not blaming anyone but I will protect my reputation.

That sounds like the governed truck I drive. But the bean counters won’t put any more gerbils on the wheel no matter how unsafe it is.
