But my employment history over the last 3 years is spotty with a different job each year, each for a period of 4-6 months. Those are jobs on the books, i've been working off and on for my family's construction company from 2015 to 2024 off the books. I don't suppose anyone knows any companies or any tips for trying to snag a trucking job? Im also only 1 week into trucker school at the moment
im looking for a trucking job

If your family will vouch for you, just say you worked construction from 2015 - 2024.
As long as the trucking company can call someone to verify it.
Don't list the job hopping or you won't be hired.

Where is your location; state & city/town.
Will you have endorsements? Better get all of them before graduating.TX2Day, nextgentrucker, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Chinatown Thanks this.

Is your domicile in Asheboro also?
How many hours is the cdl school?
If I were you, consider flatbed, tanker, refrigerated. Don't deal with dry van because the pay isn't as good weekly/annually as it is with the other three.nextgentrucker and thefalloftroy24 Thank this. -

Good, 160 hours is ok.
For others reading your thread: Carrboro is in the statistical area of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill.thefalloftroy24 Thanks this. -
It's difficult for new grads to get tanker jobs right now. When I pulled hazmat tankers the company hired a few new cdl school grads and after orientation and training period, the new grads did just as well as the experienced drivers. Don't let hazmat tankers scare you off.
