Until you have control on the Interstate it’s more dangerous when in that lane. Also I can tell you from experience that flashing lights are like a fly trap also.

Kinda like all of the big pileups they have in Florida on clear days...on flat straight highways.

I thought you might know. You're the only cop I know on this forum. I figured he had good reason, but every crunch just made me cringe. You could literally point out the people not paying attention.

That wasn't a CHP sitting on the shoulder shining the light on the disabled vehicle. It was a photojournalist for ONESCENE.TV. He had called in the incident but CHP had not arrived. As the crashes continued, he updated the dispatcher.

There is one 1 idiot, 1st one who did not turn emergency light.
As for other drivers.. well look on video it's black cars in a middle of a dark interstate road, where everyone going 70+ No so easy to spot .as you think

    Throwing this thought out there.

Do you think that possibly the flatness, and how stupidly straight the roads are, could be a factor in why there are so many accidents?
If you have basically nothing to do as a driver, boredom and complacency set in.
Here there are no long stretches without corners and also hills. About 50 kms from my home is a straight stretch that is approximately a mile long. It is so well know, the drivers gave it a name ' Potato Flats'. It has a gentle gentle grade of maybe 3-4%, and is straight for a mile. That is incredibly rare, but with our hwys not being straight, drivers must pay attention at all times. And the corners are not gentle sweepers where you barely move the steering wheel, we have real corners on our hwys.

    Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
