Hello all, new member here, am currently in class A cdl school paying for it myself as I did not care for the (free) schools terms. I am brand new to this world and know almost nothing lol. I guess any advice is appreciated, I am curious as to where I should apply and also if I should get a class B or class A job when I graduate as I cannot be OTR gone for weeks at a time. A few days at most honestly. Anyways I am out of Tucson area and looking to learn all I can before I go job hunting. Thanks !

Class A. Then you can drive a or b. Get a lot of endorsements. Tanker for sure. I wouldnt drive dry vans myself.
There's lots of local in tankers.

If you intend to stay more local with your driving -- it will behoove you greatly to go ahead, & get ALL the CDL endorsements (tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples) -- when you get your CDL-A.

If you can get the passenger one too that goes far too. Might cost more but its worth it i think

Definitely get Class-A cdl with all endorsements.
I recently posted some local jobs in Tucson that hire new cdl school grads or sometimes hire new cdl school grads.
I'll try to find that post and put it on your thread.

Awesome thank you! It appears there are a ton of class b jobs in my area so hopefully I can get one after graduation. Im only getting class A because other truckers told me its easier to get class b jobs with a class a license but what do I know?

Correct, Class-A CDL is good for Class-A truck jobs and Class-B truck jobs.
Class-B CDL is only good for Class-B truck jobs and does not qualify for Class-A truck jobs.
