Well you talked me into it... I called and asked if I could still have the job. They sent me to Clovis, NM for orientation. I'm happy with everything so far myself. Brought a load to the cheese plant on my first run. Truck is nice and the atmosphere is too.

Yeah I didnt think about you working out of Clovis. I hope you like it. I talked to a guy in winter haven that was a rehire out of Clovis, he said he should have never left. He said they were good to work for out there.
Keep this thread updated with how it goes. I am going to be honest on here and give good and bad. I just haven't had any bad yet.
I loaded in Chaseburg Wisconsin and man that town and area is beautiful. I even found an 8 and 9 % grade in Wisconsin. I was surprised. My load didnt load until 18:30 I got there about1300 and they loaded me early around 1600 only took 30 minutes. I am now on my way to Shippensburg Pa. I will tell you, that place in Chaseburg Wi I bet in the winter is hard to get to. The road is curvy and narrow for about 25 miles. Thank goodness its not winter.

Orientation consisted of going to a local chiropractor in Clovis for drug test and physical. Very simple physical I might add. Went back to the office, filled out a stack of paperwork that was about 5 inches tall. After that, I sat down with the office lady and went over everything that I had put on the paperwork. Once all that was finished they gave me my drive test. Drive test consisted of getting in the truck they issued me, hooking on to a loaded tanker that was in the yard and going about 12 miles out of town to a cheese plant. We checked in, got our samples, waited in line, then got unloaded. We came back to the yard when we were finished. He showed me how to do the paperwork, how to keep the samples in a mini ice chest, and what all the job entails. It went great. My truck is like a 2013 Peterbilt with 282,000 miles. It has a fridge and freezer just like they told me it would have. The trainer who gave me my drive test told me I would probably be going to Florida within a month or so to turn my truck in and pick up a new one. He said IRT doesn't really keep them past 300,000 miles. I was like..alrighty then lol. Hell a 2013 Pete with that low miles is a heck of a nice truck. Doesn't make me complain one bit lol. But if they want to go ahead and trade it in on a new one... works for me. It's nice working for an outfit that takes pride in their equipment. All I can say, is I'm ready to hit the road and stretch the ole legs. I wouldn't mind being in the Florida area from everything I've heard they have some runs I would like to be on.

I keep the samples in the fridge and havent had any problems.
I heard Florida has some Cali runs.
The new petes are sweet and I saw some new kw's too but I am happy with my freightliner. I like freightliners and the mechanics were saying they have no problems out of them.
Good luck man and be careful!

You too. I'll probably run into you somewhere out there I'm sure. I'll keep the thread posted on my experiences as well. I'm not sure if we go to Houston a lot or not.
