Will be moving to Ft Lauderdale in Dec. with 1 yr exp. driving truck. No tanker experience but have tanker endorsement and hazmat endorsement. Looking to get into a company who will train. Then stay with that co. for years to come and keep knocking on the doors of the more reputable companies. Does anybody know of fuel tanker companies in S. Florida that will train?

I can't tell you about FL but I can say you are going to have a very hard time finding a company like you want. It's just they tend to take people that can go to work right away and since the market is flooded with drivers the companies have their pick. You're going to have to do something different to be noticed. And the only way I know of is go in and see them. Put your face to the application and let them know you really want the job.

Because I once was a single parent raising my daughter with disabilities untill medicaid called and said I made too much money and took her medicaid from her. To keep her care, she is living with her Mom (good mother) in Fl. Now Im using trucking to get back to her and still have an income I can actually do somthing with. Alot of information but I dont mind shareing.

i think you may find it very difficult to get hired in s. fl. maybe you can do a trial run over there before you commit all the way. (gives you the advantage of finding out first hand if you can get a job there). i just left miami a week ago and got a job in san antonio area almost immediately.
that would not happen in miami.

It's been awhile. Did you end up in Florida? If so are you hauling gas?
