I fully admit that my mechanical skills are basic at best. However, I can usually follow instructions and complete most tasks. My vehicle is a 2019 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA and the cable provided by Motive is the 3043. I've watched countless videos, coupled with numerous calls and after multiple attempts of pulling the dash off I've come to the conclusion that I need someone else to install this thing.
I've called several mechanics and truck dealerships. None will commit to installing. Any recommendations on 3rd party ELD installers?

Plug it in, download the app, hook to phone or tablet via Bluetooth

Call them idiots back and tell them to send you the 9 pin cable. It will attach directly to you port under the dash.
They sent me the same cord I’m assuming they sent you where you have to manually splice it in. I wanted the ease of removing mine if need be. I called them and told them they sent me the wrong one and I needed the 9pin.
I like everything about the Motive setup except the customer service, I absolutely despise talking to them idiots. -
Timin770, ZippyD and Phoenix Heavy Haul Thank this.

Should just plug into data port.

I tried signing up with them in January when my previous ELD provider was shutting down but they completely ignored me.Last edited: Oct 28, 2022

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. The cable they sent doesn't plug directly into the 9 pin data port. With that said, I have found someone who has experience installing this type of cable, but as a back up plan I took the advice of @Phoenix Heavy Haul and asked Motive to send me the 9 pin cable.
I've attached a picture of the 3043 cable.Attached Files:
