    Not something I worry about.
I just try to not bash into anything too often.

I’ve heard some WM dc’s slip seat and some are going away from it after having problems finding drivers. They limit the time you can talk on your phone during your shift. A friend of a friend went to WM and in orientation they basically say that if you can’t leave your phone alone during your shift you might as well go home. I think he drove for them for 3 or 4 weeks before he went back to work for the Ground contractor he left.

There’s something highly irritating about a pompous Wally driver. More than other companies proud drivers.

I spoke to one last fall. Pleased as a pig in shyte, had been there over 20 years, making around $120k. He has enough seniority to no longer slip-seat, but said everyone will slip for at least a decade.
I tell everyone looking at megas for training that Swift is actually the way to go. They have a decent training program, and then hold the driver's hand for the first year. At that point, stab for a good dedicated account or move on to a higher-paying company. Just don't stay regular OTR, you won't make a decent living there unless on a good dedicated account.
I always wondered what the piggyback teams were paid... you know, the class 7 with wedge and class 8 with bigger wedge that deliver Promaster Vans, then drive the class 7 onto the 8 and return back to the border. Seems like an interesting gig, you would be in your truck alone half the time and teaming the return trip for the other half, and you would always have someone to chat with on the CB.

The best Swift jokes I ever heard came from Swift drivers themselves

Lenny, did you go with them then or not? If not why? Sounds like a good deal.

I have never figured out this talking on the phone all the time thing???
Who are these drivers talking to all the time? I might make one call a day and usually I’m eating lunch or definitely not driving. I guess I’m just old school?
