So now that my app/ resume is out there, my miles are up. Yup, close to 6k in the last 14 days.
I've been wanting to haul tank again.
Talked to Quality Carriers recruiter today.
Seemed decent. The terminal manager in Chicopee MA is suppised to call in the next day or two.
@Chinatown what are your thoughts about them?
It seems like it may be a good leap.
If anyone else has some input I'd appriciate it.
I'm also looking at Smith in PA and Logistics One out of NY state.
    Thanks

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

Haven't read anything really negative about the company. I think each terminal is a franchise and if so, it probably depends on the owner as to how good the working environment is.
An 0/0 used to post on here and said he is successful with the company. Haven't seen any posts in a long time though.

Ya, I figured. I would like to try it out for sure.
Granted Werner got off their assessment and been giving me miles. I'm in North bend Washington currently. Funny how they works when you put your resume out there.. and inquire about becoming a trainer lol

Let me know what you find out about smith I'm interested in them as well. I talked to some drivers at the fuel island and they didn't have anything negative to say. I haven't got around to contacting them myself

All the mega-crap companies keep score of how long they keep drivers since they don't stay for long. When you have prospective employers calling these companies looking for work history, these mega-crap companies almost never say anything to the employer. However, they make note of the fact that the employee is looking to jump ship, and an effort is made to keep the driver. For a short period, miles for that driver usually increase in hopes they will stay. That drops back off again if they are stupid enough to stay.

    Well,
    I'm satisfied with 2860 miles a week.
Yup, with that # I make my $1k pre tax and am the happiest driver out here.
Seriously. That's my # to make me happy. $1k a week.
    It's not really that hard.
On a a 7 day week, that averages out to 408.57 miles a week.
At an average of 50 mph, that is 8.17 hrs drive line a day.
That's all it takes to make me be a happy worker and promote the company in a positive light.
To some that's rocket science at corporate.

Lots of companies "Guarantee" $1150 a week based on 2500 miles. But I believe you will find that it isn't all about the money. Sometimes it is about respect.
