There are a lot of variables that effect the rates, like where you are, where you go, what you haul, drivers experience.etc.
clausland Thanks this. -
Like @kemosabi49 said, there's a lot of variables that come into play. Sound confusing, it can be.
Strictly speaking though, regarding your insurance cost question, intrastate rates will usually be cheaper than interstate rates; however, you cannot base the cost solely on that. Too many variables come into play making up what insurance is going to cost you.
Do some research on here first, most likely every question you'll have has been covered at some time or another. If you still have questions, you'll find plenty of help on here, but research first... -

Too many guys buy the rig first, with no insurance quote or business plan in place, recipe for failure... -
Make sure you have Intrastate freight available. Pulling containers from Houston's Port, or Laredo would very likely be Intrastate as the load crossed state lines.
Remember, it's the load that matters, not just the bit you pull. -
Is there anyone on here that runs Texas Intrastate that can point me in the right direction of how to get Texas intrastate authority? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
