I feel in love with a dedicated account and didn't research this. I go for my road test and the tester points it out and Im like ehhhhhhhh. He even mentioned he was contacted earlier in the week by safety for a event.

My next truck I get will have driver facing camera. Been trying to decide if I can deal with it. They can watch you anytime they want on their computer screen without you knowing it and trust me they do. I have yet to see anyone who works with a computer that doesn’t end up messing around on it.

Only you can decide if something is a deal breaker FOR YOU. I doubt many drivers enjoy being on camera, but if you drive like the boss is watching you will probably be a better driver.

I met the Manager/load planner, She makes my old driver leader seem like an angel. I'm starting to realize "it isn't always greener of the other side" lol.

The solution is don’t work for a turd mega that has those cameras. If you are a greenhorn you may not have a choice though.

Seems safety runs counter to getting a load in a timely manner

If you are a new or low experience driver you can expect that you'll be limited to companies which will require you to drive in front of a driver facing camera, if that is a deal breaker then frankly Trucking will be a deal-breaker for you as a job or a career because you must obtain experience driving in front of one of those cameras for you to get a job where you do not have to drive it in front of one of those cameras. Yes there are exceptions but good luck finding them, otherwise just see it as a sacrifice you have to make to get to where you want to be. You might have to just suck it up and drive on.

3.5 years experience all with 1 company. Burnt out on current account and nothing i like to transfer to. Was on Family dollar. Was looking at a medical supply driver local and some runs 100 miles away or the Ruan battery account out of Texas. I had some bumper damage from a dumpster 2 years ago so Wal Mart wouldnt take me. Probably should have transfered and stayed with current company and re applied to Walmart in a year.

If they have that ltyx with it also forget it
You can't even drink a cup of coffee while driving and they will be calling you. I am not working for a company with a driver facing camera if I am otr and living in the truck. Outward facing..no problem. Insurance companies and cubicle dwellers..ughh

I did it for two years. I hated every second of it. You can tell the thing starts blinking. You know it’s recording you.
