Iowa DOT calls out trucker for transporting busted trailer under cover of darkness

Hook it to a tow truck, drag it all
Across the country and they wouldn’t bat an eye.

 

I would be lying if I said I’ve never used the cover of darkness for sketchy loads.

As long as he’s taking it to a trailer repair shop nearby and it won’t fall apart on the road, he’s good in my opinion. I’ve had to take some damaged company trailers to repair shops as well. I mean they weren’t as bad as this guys trailer in that picture but it certainly wasn’t good enough to be loaded and ran across the country. It’s just part of the business. Gotta get it repaired somehow to get the trailer working again.

 

It didn't take me long to figure out that running at night is just easier in so many different ways.

 

I’ve seen some oversized loads get slimmer at night.
