Is it just the Dallas market or have rates taken a dive everywhere?

Wondering about this because it seems that everything coming out of Dallas was garbage today.I was out for 2 weeks due to Covid and was shocked when I delivered my first load post Covid in Dallas this morning and couldn’t find anything decent. Is it across the board or just the DFW market?

It’s always been a better place for vans then flats.

Not flat bed but both AZ and CA was notably softer then normal today. Made me wonder if this no unvaxxed border cross thing is already causing problems?

Jan and Feb throughout the history is cheap, non avail and rest in peace at home time. Or run just to keep bills paid.

PS: Today I've refused 6dpm run DFW to OKC just because did not feel like it. So, there are options, just gotta be patient.

This past Saturday but I’m sure it would have started causing problems prior to the deadline so people didn’t get stuck.

Yeah that's about 3 days, about right for it to start being felt. Supposedly BNSF is staring down a big strike threat right now too that won't help matters any.

Rates have been lower on the east coast and the Midwest as well compared to November/December, but you can still get a $2-$3/mile partial, or a $4/mile full hotshot truckload headed to a good market if you’re patient.

Dallas rates suck for flatbed/hotshot. In my experience, brokers think it’s acceptable to pay $1.50/mile for a full truckload to a bad market and to lie about the weight of their loads (probably because weight stations are rarely open). I had a Direct shipper do it too. I hauled for 4K Lift Co. and they told me the load weighed 13,000 lbs.. when it really weighed 17,000lbs.
