I have driven for years. All this is building up to a crescendo. Do I stay or get out now? Some atrocities:
    1. I had to air up a tire.
    2. Someone dropped a trailer too low and I had to crank the landing gear.
    3. The fuel pump card reader at the Love’s didn’t work and I had to walk inside.
    4. I got to a delivery and they were on break.
    5. I had to move a pallet.
    6. I had to reconnect my Elog Bluetooth.
    7. I asked for a radio check and no one answered.
    8. A rock hit my windshield.
    9. I had to slide tandems to get unloaded.
10.I had to chock my wheels.

I was under the impression that I go to the truck, turn the key, floor it and deliver. That’s it. The rest is all a bunch of BS.

Good thing you don’t have to stop twice a day and make a check call!!
Or find a pay phone and use a pad and pencil to get directions to the shipper/receiver!

Wait. Did you have to actually walk around the truck for a pre-trip? Enough is enough. Next thing you know they will want you to check fluid levels. I mean, come on.

Got smacked in the chest with a bungee today. The stupid thing jumped off a D-ring when I pulled on it. As upsetting as it is to be attacked for no reason, I shouldn't have been forced into an altercation with a bungee chord. These shippers should be required to keep drivers safe by tarping their own loads. Then if a bungee gets snappy, they can give it a safety violation and make it attend a class on safety in the work place.

I call my dispatch every day and say “yeah, is someone coming to fuel this truck? I am waiting here blocking a fuel pump.”

Did you have more than one stop on your load?
    That'd be it for me.

When I get to my first stop tomorrow, I am calling the receiver and asking if someone can open my doors.

I hope you smacked it back. Can't have these bungees getting away with something like that.
