    Little Kids.

    Life Style.

    No Family etc.

Guess what? We truckers are now your new family. Lots of kids whining at the lunch counter now (TEASING...) pissing all over themselves in the lot failing to clean up needing a truckstop mammy to clean up for them. (More teasing collectively to the industry)

    Sheesh.

If that's all, then maybe you find something MUCH MUCH closer to home that keeps you where you want, like to be and happy.

    It's better you do this.

Yes it's a form of abandonment to walk away with a straight quit. You will learn that unemployment is not possible because you straight quit without cause. These States and America does not give out unemployment to quitters or those who are fired for cause.

I guess you are going to find that TRUCK ABANDONMENT with or without a load is a BIG, BIG, BIG no no in this industry. If you had finished training and had your own truck and you quit then... mmm mmm mmm. tsk tsk tsk. Maybe its really good you quit now as a trainee who did not know enough just what quitting or abandonment in this industry REALLY MEANS against you in the future.

This is not a marriage. Not at all. MWAH!

It's a Journey in life. It's yours to walk. Or drive. But it's NOT for everyone. And NOT everyone will survive trucking. That's why we need 100 more truckers to recruit to replaces losses ranging from simple I QUIT all the way up to deaths, disability, injuries, owies, ARRESTS and sometimes just plain more freight than trailers and drivers to shake a stick at. Half of that 100 will not see the three months for a variety of reasons.

I am not your opponet. Go home, be with your children, they represent your love with another who loves you and ultimately those children are our future. BE HAPPY.

But considering how you quit... I consider you very very lucky. Because you did not know then just what quitting or abandonment would really have done to your future in this industry (It would have destroyed it)

Keep in mind now that you quit. It will be in your employment records for about 7 to 10 years now for anyone to check against it.

Even if you are just with a trainer, if he is under a load, then you are under the load also. Never quit while being under a load, the info will follow you and you don't want that on your record, even if it is just local you are looking for.

Good luck in finding something you can do. You may need to look at your options before quitting and have something lined up, just in case the lack of experience hinders you.

Read the fine print in the contract you no doubt would of had to sign when you started with the company and see what it stipulates.

I agree a driver should never quit under a load. However for the purposes of abandonment not the same. The truck is operated under the direction of the lead driver. As long as the lead driver is still with the truck the truck/Load has technically not been abandoned. However your right, this can follow a driver. The sad part is to a company trying to fill seats that knowledge and a buck won't buy a cup of coffee anymore.

Bro, you are out there now right? At least stick it out till you get home, get that paycheck, then bail. Look in to the powder haulers like Apex, Valley Bulk,Barney Trucking.... I don't know the hiring requirements but if you hit them when they are desperate, sometimes they will let little things like experience slide.
