LOL....I'm not the one asking the question. As a company owner I don't see how anyone can offer this deal. Eating $0.80 on empty miles, paying for insurance, assuming the risk of insurance increases caused by accidents or safety rating hits. Maybe if I had all-you-can-haul contracts for $4/mile...

Question you need to ask, "IF" paying empty miles what is my dwell time from when I'm actually empty until you start paying me to run empty??? If you are sitting a day between loads your losing money.

Even if you are dropping and running empty, assuming 3.00 a gallon fuel and 6 miles to a gallon you are at 1.73 loaded and 1.30 empty, if your loaded and empty miles are the same you are at 1.51 per mile for all miles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

They aren't paying for your fuel, they're just providing a means for you to pay for it.

I wouldn't even give that outfit a thought, much less a second one.

So, pardon my ignorance. My understanding was they are paying for fuel. Am I wrong? Are you saying their comdata card is not paying fuel, just allowing us to pay fuel with it?

You buy the fuel with their Comdata card, they take it out of your pay less any discounts or they may charge you a fee to use the card. And those rates they are quoting you were the standard 30 years ago when fuel was under $1. I cannot believe folks fall for this nonsense.
