So you're at 19.45 + 35.88 + 3.69 + 2.50 + 6.81 (EOBR for the newbies) not including plates and permits.....which comes to TAH DAH.....$65.83 per week......Yes you were right about one thing, I forgot the cost of IFTA and permits went down, oops you caught me.......WOW......OP, you might be able to shave $10 bucks a week off by choosing the cheapest CPP insurance package and eliminating LCN and PrePass and stay in the stone age but this is about what most people are paying!!

thanks everyone for the information it sounds to me that landstar is about as close as you can to being an o/o without taking final step. still can't seem to figure out what an average 5 1/2 work week figures out to be? right now the best i have done as a conpany driver is about 800.00 a week and that would be a good week and i still get home friday evening

Landstar, Farm2Fleet, Mercer, Sammons just to name a few.

I used to be with Farm2Fleet until I found a local company that was looking to expand on and I moved there. There were more intangible than tangible reasons for the move. One being access to a 6-bay heated shop to do my own maintenance.

Pulling a dry van, I would choose the Schneider CHOICE program over any other. They have lots of loads, and once you learn the system, you can basically work it to it's fullest and be home regurally. Worth looking into...

I'd stay away from schneider choice now. It has dramatically gone down hill over last 5 years steadily rate wise combined with all the new BS hoops they want you to jump through now. Annual driver re- certification test as if you are one of their company rookies. Screw owners daily on empty trailer searches when you book a drop hook with next booked load picking up within 10 miles only to drop & discover no empties to be found because sni allows customers to use trailers for storage or empties where grabbed by company bobtails sent in before you arrived. Then they demand you can not bobtail in to next customer without empty send you 40+ miles 80+ round trip to pick up empty, costing you unplanned time but most importantly MONEY in fuel. Yes they pay you 50.00 for this. Do math 6.5 mpg 85 miles = 13.07 gallons x 4.00= 53.00 in fuel. You lost 3.00 in fuel, No driver pay, wear on equipment no pay, lost 2 hrs. of available driving time for week resulting in additional loss potential revenue. Schneider cost to a company ride for same empty search 87.00 including fuel & driver pay. Multiple this scenario happening sometimes couple times a week x couple thousand owners & schneider is saving big money off the backs of ic's. All for 65% of revenue. For every settlement of 1500.00 an ic makes for themselves they made Schneider very close to same amount because Schneider has virtually no cost envolved.

So, your only complaint with SNI .. you can't find any empties? I had that problem only once. Once you learn the system its not that bad.

Nope been there 5 years on choice it continues to go down hill. Learn system? I know it backwards, forwards, sideways. I didn't say I had a problem making money. I said nicely Schneider is ripping ic's off. expecting freebies & 65% with combination of schneider constant BS is at expense of ic. Empty problem is huge & if you have only experienced it once you have not been around long. This issue came up from ic's just two weeks ago during conference call. All the guys I know that have been there for good length of time all feel same way. Of course you might run strictly to one place you know is always flush with empties. Personally I run with the rate in mind first. I don't mind having to run extra miles for empties to service customers but you should be paid for doing so. Not spending your money to take care of schneider's business. Schneider's huge turn over with owners in last few years tells the real story with how they took a good program and basically have ruined it.

So, whats your next move? Are you going to quit working for SNI. I was only there for 9 mo, before i got deployed. I didnt have that problem much. I tried to run the same freight area, as much i could. How's the freight rates coming along? Not many SNI O/O post on here much. Its mostly one hit wonders.

Easeway, sorry it's not working out for you. A lot of it has to do with location also tho. I live just outside Chicago and was always able to do very well if I stayed around IN IL WI MI OH. I was clearing $1,500 week after fuel and costs and home every weekend. I am still in touch with quite a few drivers running the program and they are all very happy and still doing very well. Maybe NC is just a bad area for SNI?? I never went out there
