I am wondering if my truck lettering is okay.

The name of the business and the city and state are above the steps on the tank.

The dot number and puc number are between the steps on the tank.

The DOT number and PUC numbers are clearly visible at 50 ft.

The name and city/state are not as clear.
The reason is because I made all of the lettering the same legal size. So part of the name goes up the curve of the tank. But whatever size I would have made the name and city and state, it would be harder to see because of the curve on the tank. From a distance it looks as though the bottom 1/2" or so of the letters of the city and state are under the steps.

Here is a photo of the old lettering from the previous owner. My lettering is identical except that the name is all in the same size letters as the numbers and it goes up the tank a bit. The bottom of the city and state is in about the same spot.

Is there any reason for anyone to give me a hard time?

    It's not legal in Michigan.

Maybe checking with floridas requirement for lettering.

That is not my lettering, that is the previous owner's.

My lettering is in the same spot except that the name of the business and city and state is the same size as the numbers.

    I am in Pennsylvania.

Basically my question is, is it a violation if you cannot clearly read the name of the business and city and State from 50 feet.

I thought the only thing you had to have was the legal company name and US DOT number. Plus Ifta sticker and NY Hut, if you go there. City and State are not required.

Yep. You don’t even need the VIN anymore.

I’d just get a sign made that fits between the steps that has the required info.

    Isn't VIN a Colorado requirement?
