Hi, new to the board here and nice to meet you all.
I'm very interested in the industry as well, so I'm reading as much as I can
Forgive me for asking, but is the OP referring to a CDL/Class A suspension here, or a regular drivers license suspension?
All the best,
Mass

it doesnt matter anymore weather it was a regular license or a class A suspension is a suspension.

Hi, Thanks for replying.... So in other words if you have ever had a suspension, even with a regular drivers license that may even have had nothing to do with a moving violation........you cannot enter the trucking industry? Thanks and all the best-

It does make it a bit harder depending on how long ago it was and what it was for.

Hi- A year and a half ago, I moved 1,400 miles away and the job I had lined up fell through. Due to the economy, it took some time finding a job and I got into arrears on my child support. I found a job (thank God) eventually and caught up, license was reinstated.... Would this issue cost me my chances or make it hard for me? Thanks a bunch and take care-

Hello all. i have the same issue. My license was suspended in 1998. I didnt get it reinstated until 2007. Had to pay a lot of money to get it back, that why it took so long, it you're wondering. Anyway, in 2007 i tried to work for CFI but the license issue came up. I was told to hold down a job for about a year and get my license a little stronger. Been at my current job for about 2 years and only have a following too close ticket on my record. I did get a speeding ticket but it doesnt show up. My driving under suspension ticket is gone as well. I tried to apply w/ Stevens but was rejected because I was honest and told them about the suspension. I've heard from others that if it doesnt show on your record then shut up about it. Is this wise? I dont want this to bite me in the #####. I guess my question is do I say anything about it. Do they go further back then the DMV will allow? I dont want to not tell them then they find out later. In Oklahoma the Dmv only goes back 3 years. If i dont say anything will they find out later through some other agency or will they only get what the DMV has given me on my report. Thanks for any answer. Dont want to be dishonest, just want to drive. Oh, one more thing, when im filling out their apps and they ask "has your license ever been suspended?", what should my reply be? I think i just asked this question twice.

If you've been turned down for it before there's probably a record of that somewhere. The only way is to be completely honest about it and hope that at some point some company will overlook it. If you lie on an application and they catch you you'll be gone anyway.

LISTEN! It depends on what your suspention is for. If its child support they will give you up to 12 months in the last 36 months. Other than that it is company specific. Some are 60 days in the last 3 years. Some are 30 days in the last year. It just depends. As far as a student goes CRST, SWIFT, and a few others will take you because they are desperate! If you enroll in a school the instructor will be able to tell you your options.

Its been 2 yeas since i got my license back. Its been hard trying to find a company but im still trying. I did find one, USA Trucks. Still waiting to hear back from them. At this point, they stated that my ss# came up w/ another name w/ it. I've never gone by any other name but my own, so im having to wait to see if they can straighten the issue out. Hoping they do because as far as the recruiter has told me, everthing would be good to go. Praying they get the issue figured out. Pulled my ss# from my credit report and asked Social Security office and they stated that they didnt find anything.
