Is the us/Canadian border closed to travel

When politicians and other public figures pull this crap it just errodes my trust in the system even further.

Yes but you can't just jump in your car and drive across the border there are permits and all sorts of forms to fill out to avoid the embarrassment of being turned around at the Canadian border. They do however allow US citizens and legal permanent residents to travel up to Alaska however you are required to follow a very strict route along the way.

 

Not at our port. Just need proof of your appt in the states. Alaska visitors can only cross at three specified ports. And yep they have to check in. The idiots that stopped in bc and Banff to vacation killed it for everyone else.

 

think your response may be to pre - covid -19 restrictions, as all border crossings would be strictly monitored now lest they allow someone in with corona.This is the reason why a person wishing to travel across the border for medical reasons would now have to apply for an exemption/ permission due to the border crossing shut downs.
